Engineering Process Specialist (IT Support Analyst)

Work with various IT teams within the Oil and Gas industry to provide support for Engineering applications in both Windows and Linux operating systems; coordinate application-related support requests and serve as vendor contact for 3rd party technical applications; organize multi-discipline efforts within IT Support organization while working with business users to steward execution of IT roadmap. This role is most suited to an IT professional who may have previous experience supporting Engineering Applications. Job responsibilities will mainly involve IT infrastructure support for technical applications; IT Systems Management; Application Delivery and Application Lifecycle Management. Need for candidates with strong interpersonal, coordination and problem-solving skills. Job Responsibilities (include but are not limited to): • Application Delivery and Lifecycle Management o Upgrade testing, licensing, version management and software deployments o Business workflow improvement, coordinating implementation of application changes/upgrades o IT systems and Product Catalog updates • On-Demand IT and Technical Support o Application access and installation support (Remote Graphics, database and LAN access, etc.) o Technical application basic troubleshooting, monitor support ticket queues, coordinate problem resolution with appropriate internal resources or vendor contacts o Performance monitoring / benchmarking - assessing network performance at global sites o Application use mentoring and application-specific training delivery to Engineering users; document IT best practices and user guides on application SharePoint • IT Systems, Risk and Data Management o Application database and infrastructure management o Coordinating system reliability issues with IT support organizations o Application risk assessments, Security & Controls management Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology related field or equivalent experience. 3 - 5 years’ experience desirable. Requirements – Technical and Soft Skills: o Safety-oriented mindset o Strong interpersonal, coordination and problem-solving skills o Ability to work across business lines and IT support organizations – prior knowledge of common IT processes and systems would be a benefit o Quick learner with interest in, and aptitude for technical applications o Windows Proficiency – Packaging, Installation (basic level) o Software acceptance testing and benchmarking (basic level) o Technical application support (basic level) o Database Management (Oracle & SQL) (basic level) o FlexLM and License Management (basic level)
