Senior Project Manager

Responsibilities:
At a high level, the contractor would be responsible for all aspects of the following:
• Provide accountability to the Project Director for the delivery of the Project deliverables;
• Collaborate with the program areas, corporate services teams and service delivery partners as applicable;
• Develop and maintain a project work schedule with activities, timelines, critical paths and resource requirements. Manage all activities against the project work schedule for the project duration. Review assigned tasks according to work plans with responsible team members;
• Plan and manage the Project in accordance with the agreed processes and tolerances;
• Maintain an executive dashboard report;
• Document and report project status against established objectives, milestones, budget and resources;
• Facilitate escalation and closure of issues that cannot be resolved by project teams;
• Oversee and contribute to the development of project documents required by central agencies;
• Prepare presentations, briefings or other communications as required;
• Support workstream leads and project resources to ensure Project progression;
• Contribute to the Project risk register and the integration of risk treatments and control activities into the project plans;
• Manage and monitor Project activity through detailed plans and schedules and preparation of reports;
• Manage multiple stakeholders’ expectations with competing interests, and issues both internally and externally including other provincial governments and industry representatives; and
• Manage project issues and provide proposed resolution options and implementing chosen options in a timely manner

Experience and knowledge of public sector organizations or regulatory environments, relevant legislation, industry reporting obligations, regulatory requirements

 

 

2.

 

Minimum of 7 years of experience at a senior level leading major projects of large scale and complexity that have multiple project delivery components

 

 

3.

 

Experience managing relationships with senior level stakeholders and leading consultation sessions

 

 

4.

 

Demonstrated experience writing briefing notes, business cases within a public sector organization

 

 

5.

 

Four years of recent experience supervising and leading senior level professionals in the development and implementation of complex projects

 

 

6.

 

Experience with multi-faceted process and organization structure changes

 

 

7.

 

Experience managing multiple priorities, meeting tight deadlines and working independently

 

 

8.

 

Experience in business planning, contract management, financial management, and negotiations

 

 

9.

 

PM experience leading at least 3 large projects in an organization similar in size and complexity as FICOM (Section 3.1)

 

 

10.

 

Project Management Certification – appropriate accreditation in Project Management from a recognized body (PMP or Prince2)

 

 

11.

 

Ability of monitoring and adjusting work to accomplish goals and deliver to the organization’s mandate

 

 

12.

 

Stakeholder engagement and relationship management - managing complex partnerships where different parties have a piece of the critical path and different levels of investment in the timelines and outcomes
