I. Job Summary
Working in an agile environment, Developer role is responsible for designing, developing, coding, unit testing, and debugging new software and producing significant enhancements to existing software. Developers conduct intermediate level business process analysis, needs assessments, and participate in design sessions with Lead/Architects in order to align digital solutions with business initiatives.

Practical (Hands on ) Experience working on complex cloud-based software projects, web application development, security and open source technologies
Cloud Technologies: Java, Microservices/API, AWS, IAM, S, EFS, Amazon SQS, Amazon SNS, AWS APIs, AWS CLI, Amazon Kinesis, Apache Kafka, CloudFormation, Serverless
Experience working with Databases like Oracle, SQL Server, DB or NoSQL databases like Cassandra, Dynamo DB, PostGreSQL
Big Data Technologies like Java, Scala, Cassandra, Hadoop, Spark, Solr
Efficient in Scripting language such as shell script, python
Good understanding in Linux commands such as grep, top, nohup etc.
Develop enterprise-level digital solutions by analyzing, coding and performing unit testing
Coordinate with business analysts and/or users to determine requirements
Collaborate with lead/architect to determine the design of quality technical solutions
Resolve defects/issues and respond to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
Perform peer code reviews and ensure the quality of code
Co-ordinate with DevOps team for deployments
Under minimal supervision, is responsible for designing, developing, coding, testing, and debugging new software and producing significant enhancements to existing software. Conducts complex business process analysis, needs assessments, and participates in design sessions with Architects in order to align information technology solutions with business initiatives. Undertakes complex projects requiring additional specialized technical knowledge in software design and testing.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Other ancillary duties may be assigned.
Leads and participates with the development of enterprise-level information technology solutions by analyzing, coding, testing, and implementing new software and by modifying/enhancing existing software applications. Leads design/coding sessions, develops solutions, and implements solutions as part of a team. Performs complex analyses of system requirements and of existing business processes and information systems. Assists with communicating the design and resolving technical/design conflicts as they occur. Coordinates closely with business analysts and users to determine requirements. Reviews systems under development and related documentation. Leads the resolution of customer issues and responses to suggestions for improvements and enhancements. Participates in the development of software. Contributes and assists principal engineers in advanced systems planning, scheduling and implementation. Mentors and fosters growth of peers and team members. May work on-call shifts on a rotation basis.
III. Supervisory Responsibilities
May coach and mentor less-experienced analysts and act as team leader on systems projects.

A. Education and Experience
Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or similar area of study. Five years of previous experience required. An additional four years of related experience may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree. Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or MIS and five or more years of software development experience.

Advanced knowledge or skills in one or more of the following is required: Knowledge of project management/change management in regards to acquisition/development life cycles. Systems development, implementation, upgrades and analyses QA testing, catalyst or unified business modeling, system design and analysis Knowledge of enterprise coding standards. Hands on experience in writing more complex code. Ability to perform code reviews. Knowledge of software methodologies. Ability to learn new and emerging technologies. Ability to lead a group to consensus, solve problems, and accomplish tasks. Ability to mentor and train less knowledgeable peers and individuals. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal). Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to adapt to change. General business knowledge and concepts.
